1. Server setup

Create a user account in MySQL Workbench (or use an existing one) that loadUI can use to connect. The user does not need to have any privilege, just the ability to connect to the server.

1.1. How to create a new user in MySQL

A user can be created in MySQL with the following command: CREATE USER ‘myuser’@’%’ IDENTIFIED BY ‘mypass’;

2. LoadUI setup

Download the MySQL Connector/J from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/j/ and put it in the folder [loadUI installation folder]\ext\. On Windows, this directory will typically be C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartBear\loadUI-2.0.0\ext\.

3. Troubleshooting

Make sure that no firewall is blocking the port used in between the server and loadUI.

4. Available statistics

The available statistics is a subset of the MySQL’s built in Server Status Variables, presented here. Note that not all Status Variables are available on all versions of MySQL.
